Losing your job is never easy, here are some practical steps you can take help

  • Check your rights: If you’re facing redundancy you might be eligible for redundancy pay, a notice period and consultation with your employer. Your current employer may also be able to support you with finding a new job.  
  • Keep companies informed: If you don’t have enough money to keep on top of your priority bills (things like your mortgage, rent and utilities) then you should  get in touch with your providers. They may be able to help you manage your money.
  • Benefits and entitlements: When anything changes in your employment, it may mean your ability to claim benefits is affected. We’ve got a free benefits calculator you can use to learn more.
