If someone close to you has died, we’re here to support you

Support for you

Staying on top of practical money matters and decisions might feel overwhelming. To help you deal with this new situation, we‘ve put together some useful information to help you stay in control of your finances.

Losing someone close to you affects everyone differently, and you may need different types of support as you grieve.

Practical support
Find out what to do after a death including how to register the death, arrange a funeral and deal with the estate.

Financial support
You might be eligible for financial support from the government. This could include help with unexpected costs.
Stepchange can also give you advice if you're struggling with debt after the death of a loved one.

Emotional Support
Losing someone important to you can be difficult. It’s natural to go through a range of emotions whilst coming to terms with your loss. Samaritans support helpline is available 24/7 for anyone who needs it. Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you.
Cruse offers personalised one to one support, and Child Bereavement UK supports families with the loss of a baby or child and helps children who are grieving.
